Please elaborate more on the general aspects of the HIGHTEX 2010 exhibition, concerning the location and different parts of it, are there any new things added to it?

Technical Textiles , will gain importance once more with HIGHTEX 2010 3rd Istanbul Technical Textiles & Nonwoven and Weaving Technologies Trade Fair, which is the first and unique in its theme, being organised by Teknik Ltd. on May 15-18, 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey.‎

HIGHTEX 2010 Exhibition, where raw material, mid products and the finished products of technical textiles being described as the market of the future, can be found in the same place together, will be the meeting of the biggest technical textiles show of Middle East and Eastern Europe.‎

There's a great attention for HIGHTEX Exhibitions, the first of which was held in 2005. HIGHTEX 2005 was held with the participation of 318 companies, 162 of which were from abroad. 10.000 pofessional visitors, 1500 of which were foreign, visited HIGHTEX 2005. ‎

At HIGHTEX 2007, more than 320 companies, 170 of which were foreign, from 20 countries including Turkey, introduced the latest products and technologies in technical textiles. 10.000 trade visitors from 35 countries came mainly from Turkey, China, India, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Uzbekistan, Korea, Taiwan, Greece, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Holland. ‎

HIGHTEX 2010, 3rd Istanbul Technical Textiles & Nonwoven and Weaving Technologies Trade Fair's distinctive feature according to the first two exhibitions is the displaying of weaving technologies. As it is obvious in ITM 2009 Exhibition, retaining the vividness of weaving machines, continueing its route with new technological investments, have caused the need for demonstration of weaving machines and technologies.‎
In this sense, besides technical textiles and nonwoven technologies, weaving technologies will be displayed at HIGHTEX 2010. ‎

The product range to be displayed at HIGHTEX 2010 as follows : raw materials, mid-products, finished products and production technologies for technical textiles, nonwovens and smart textiles.

The global economic crisis has had any effects on the exhibition and the reception of the visitors?

As in the whole world, we sorrowfully have been through the effects of global recession in our country. We spent last year in the shadow of this recession. This situation was not only for textile sector but also for the other sectors. Nevertheless, one of the least affected countries with this recession was Turkey. This had several reasons. Firstly, Turkey is a country that could stand still until now with its internal dynamics.  Secondly, it's open to differences and innovations with its socio-cultural structure and geographical situation. Thus, Turkey has a very advantageous structure.‎

Even though it is possible to say that the number of visitors have fallen statically because of the recession, we experience that expectations are satisfied both during and after the exhibition. We experienced the most clear example of this in ITM 2009. ITM 2009, where there were feedbacks highly above the expectations, was the bright side for the textile after a stable year. HIGHTEX 2010 has already called attention. Although it has been nearly four months, most of the booth have already been sold. Gradually increasing importance of technical textile, makes HIGHTEX 2010 Exhibitions, the only of its kind in Turkey and its surroundings, more important.

Please explain more regarding the events and gatherings taking place during the exhibition such as 4th International Technical Textiles Congress.

The 4th edition of International Technical Textiles Congress, which took place during the HIGHTEX Exhibitions held in 2005 and 2007, will also be held concurrently with HIGHTEX 2010. 4th International Technical Textiles Congress organised by Dokuz Eylül University Textile Engineering Department, will take place concurrently with HIGHTEX 2010 Exhibition on May 16- 18,2010 at Tuyap Fair, Convention and Congress centre in Istanbul, Turkey.‎

‎According to the new presence of this part of textile industry in the most of the region countries, in your opinion how would be the reception of the visitors?

It will have a relatively positive effect. When we observe the already signed participants, we can already see this effect. The potential of the participants offering innovations for the market and the increasing interest for the technical textiles, is a sign of numerous and qualified visitors. We assume that this interest, which was already proved in the first and in the second edition of HIGHTEX exhibitions will increase and continue in the  3rd edition of the HIGHTEX Exhibitions. As going one step further, we can say that Turkey and its surrounding will be focus of the world in this subject.‎

‎Based on the daily growth of the nonwoven and technical textiles in the countries which possess the textile industry, how would you see the future of these industries?

With the enhancement of high value-added products during the recent years, technical textile market has developed in Turkey, being one of the most important centers of the world textile industry, Manufacturer companies who started business with manufacturing basic products in 1970s, now exports tons of raw materials and finished products of technical textiles to all world. Especially Meltblown, Spunbond, Spunlace, Thermobond, Waterlaid technologies are in demand in Turkey. Technical textile manufacturer companies produce raw materials and mid-products to many sectors, especially;  ready-made clothing, geotextile, home textile, cleaning/cosmetics/hygiene, automotive, packaging, nourishment and industrial sectors. As the manufacturer companies in Turkey has recently discovered that they are a part of the technical textiles market, the are mostly are described as a part of the sector that they serve for.‎

Producers who are delighted from the global demand for their products, are continuously investing in technology to renew their technologies and to enhance their capacities. Besides this, new companies are starting to business in the industry. Turkish producers, who are aiming at starting smart textile production, draw on attention with the lately increased R&D and P&D investments they have made. Especially most of the final products that they bring on to the market attracts huge interest all around the world. ‎

There are hundreds of companies serving on this area in Turkey. It's the same for the other countries of the region. With the increasing importance and usage area, technical textile products and nonwoven technologies are in dispensible in our lives.Turkey is a textile country and it will maintain it's situation. Great steps are also achieved in technical textiles. Investments on technical textiles are increasing day by day both in Turkey and in the neighbouring countries. We assume that, with suitable investments and innovative approaches, the future of this sector is very bright.‎
