New Carpet Qualities at High Production Rates with the Van De Wiele Carpet Weaving Machines

With the latest developments displayed at ITMA 2007 by Van de Wiele, new carpet qualities are woven on the Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92 at high production rates.
-New trends with Hand Look carpets and Shaggy rugs combining long cut pile and high loop pile are also demonstrated.
- Colourful Axminster carpets in up to 16 colour frames, without incorporated pile, saving pile yarns, prove also the high return on investment of the Master in Axminster MAX63.
1- The Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92, combining high quality carpet, flexibility and productivity
The double rapier Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92 is designed for productivity and flexibility, new carpet qualities and low maintenance costs. Giving at least 20% more output than any other carpet weaving machine, the Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92 is by far the most productive machine.
The Carpet & Rug Pioneer is designed in order to obtain high speed and a low vibration level, even for the heaviest carpet qualities.
Ergonomic pile height setting is realized by symmetrical adjustment of top and bottom carpet guiding rails. A vibrationfree cutting bank guarantees the perfect pile aspect. Numerous carpet qualities are woven on the Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92, from oriental to trend setting modern designs in wool, polypropylene, acrylic, viscose, silk, nylon, polyester, etc.
The patented split lancet holder for central pile draw-in reduces the pile yarn tension and increases the weaving efficiency. The CRP92 weaves all single and double rapier weave structures, including combinations of cut pile and flat weaves, names and logos.
Single rapier weave structures are most efficiently woven with rapier switch-off. The optional Servo Driven Shaft motion with timing difference between tight warp and slack warp guarantees a clean back with less incorporated pile and allows quick weave structure changes.
The Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92 is equipped with advanced electronics, making the machine user friendly and efficient.
The VDW X2 pre-winders with the HD electromagnetic weft brake reduce the waste of jute and guarantee the weft insertion without tension peaks. Temperature of the rapiers, guided on air cushions, is continuously monitored. The continuous beam let-off by LOTUS servomotor guarantees a shock-free course of the ground warp yarns. The touch screen jacquard controller is foreseen for connection to the Weavlink production planning and monitoring.
The electronic jacquard is equipped with simple and reliable selectors, insensitive to temperature and dust.
Compact selectors programme up to 24.192 pile yarns for carpets in reed 700 dents/m, 8 colours in 4 m or 500dents/m, 10 colour frames.
The filling catching device reduces the length of jute ends. Jacquard knives are driven by conjugate cams on both sides. The CRP jacquard for carpet weaving has more lift than any other jacquard i.e. cleaner back. Pile frames in different levels for easy shedding result in minimum incorporated pile yarn, saving up to 80g/m2.
2- New trends with Hand Look and Shaggy carpets
The patented 3 rapiers weaving technique inserting 3 fillings at the same time weaves the 3 shot weave structure with 50% higher output as on a double rapier machine. The 3 rapiers weaving technique is also developed for Hand Look Carpets. The Hand Look HLX93 weaves high quality carpets with a hand-knotted look back in reed 700d/m and 8 colour frames. No ground warps showing through the back results in the hand-knotted look and a perfect pile fixation, with only outside picks.
The Hand Look weave structure is woven with stationary incorporated pile and 3 rapiers.
Crystal sharp designs are shown on the front and back of the carpet, as single pile rows per design-row with no mix contours and no missing ends, are woven. Beside long pile shaggy carpets with cut pile up to 2 x 50 mm height, Shaggy Loop carpet is also woven with the 3 rapiers weaving technique. The Universal Shaggy loop USX83 weaves, in the top and bottom carpets, any combination of long cut pile, long and short soft loops.
Cut pile up to 2x30mm per carpet and soft loops up to 2x20mm are woven on the Shaggy loop USX83.
3- Axminster carpets in 16 colour frames
The Master in Axminster MAX63 is designed to weave Axminster carpet at a high industrial speed of 160 RPM.
The Axminster MAX63 machine for weaving wall-to-wall and area rugs with up to 16 colour frames, without incorporated pile i.e saving pile yarns without incorporated pile Carpets up to 16 colour frames, without incorporated pile i.e. a high return on investment by saving pile yarns are woven on the MAX63. The Corinthian structure is woven with the lowest pile yarn consumption for a max. facial pile yarn use. Area rugs woven with a patented 2-shot through the back give a handknotted look. The MAX63 can weave names and logos. Patented pile grippers without pivot and bearing are suitable for gripping thick & thin pile yarns in the same carpet permitting new carpet design possibilities.
4- Weavelink
In order to cope with the growing tendency towards automation, the Van de Wiele Weavlink software has been further developed for detecting mixed contours before weaving, processing, networking, planning and many new modules are available: real time follow up and information, efficiencies registration, intra net,... With above new developments, Van de Wiele offers the designers the possibilities to use their full creativity for high quality carpets and the weavers, the tools to be very productive. The combination of both makes a winning team to cope with the challenges of today’s market.
